Thursday Nights: Rangers 07/08

Who? – Glasgow Rangers Football Club

What? – Euro Cup 2007/08

Where? – Glasgow, Scotland and across Europe

When? – February 2007 – May 2008

How? – After reaching the Round of 16 of the Euro Cup in the previous season, Rangers once again found the Champions League group stage a task too far under new boss Walter Smith in 2007/08. Despite a fantastic start which included a memorable 3-0 away win at Lyon and holding Barcelona at home 0-0, three defeats from their last three group games meant a path into the Euro Cup once again. This time they managed to make it all the way to the final against Zenit St. Petersburg, coming up short 2-0. Below is their brilliant run to the final, defeating the likes of Fiorentina and Sporting Lisbon.
